GAZ, Russia's largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles, presents its fleet of light commercial vehicles and buses for the first time at the IAA.
The largest-quantity vehicle manufacturer in Russia, GAZ from Nischni Nowgorod, steps onto the IAA-stage this year for the first time ever. With 13 locations and over 40,000 employees, the extremely successfully positioned automotive group brought several vehicles from the light program as well as an all-wheel-drive truck of the Ural series and a Kursor bus to Hannover. The GAZ Gazelle Next, an elegantly drawn medium-heavy van with frame construction, which can easily compete in sturdiness and sustainability with an Iveco Daily, starts the GAZ-program off. The Russian’s interieur is modern, and the driving performance of the van equipped with a 2.8-liter Cummins-engine is able to comply with European standards. As a light truck from 5 to 8.7 tons, the short-hood truck GAZon Next complements the product program. Manufactured in various versions, GAZon combines robust design and high ground clearance with a modern driver workplace in the five-, or optionally available, seven-seater cabin. The GAZ Ural comes along as a martial all-wheel drive. The off-road truck offered exclusively as 4x4 or 6x6 works under the most difficult operating conditions. GAZ exports to 40 countries. An appearance on the German market, however, isn’t planned in the near-term future. The interesting Russians can be seen in the outdoor area at booth N 69 under the Hermes Tower.
