It was only recently that the Neckarsulm-based company KSPG AG adopted the new name of Rheinmetall Automotive for its market operations. Accompanying the change is a restyled corporate design which this tradition-steeped autoindustry supplier will be featuring at this year's IZB (Hall 5/5230).

Among the focal points of Rheinmetall Automotive's presentation in Wolfsburg is its expertise in electrical and variable-output auxiliary equipment such as water, vacuum and oil pumps. This is rounded off by information on the global competence in castings as well as the current generation of pistons and plain bearing materials. There are also fuel-reduction and air-management products on show. In addition, Rheinmetall Automotive will inform visitors on its developments in components and assemblies for present and future drive systems; hybrid, battery and fuel cell.

This first-tier component supplier which has been operating on the international auto markets for over a century comprises three divisions. The Hardparts division (Kolbenschmidt brand) with pistons for cars and trucks, large-bore pistons, engine blocks, cylinder heads and other castings as well as plain bearings and continuouscast products. Mechatronics incorporates the Pierburg company, specializing in modules and assemblies for pollution reduction, solenoid valves, actuators, and components for trucks and offroad vehicles. Last but not least, the Aftermarket division with its Motorservice brand covers the global parts business in over 130 countries. In 2015, Rheinmetall Automotive generated sales of €2.6 billion. It has more than 40 production plants and a workforce of 11,000 worldwide.
